My name is Alex, I come from England, am a mathematics graduate, and have been a teacher of English as a second language in Poland for the past 5 and a half years. 

 

When it comes to languages, I believe that the secret to a fast, effective and enjoyable learning process is gaining new and exciting knowledge and experiences through the medium of the target language. In a word, I am a proponent of enquiry based learning.

Whether it be: gaining new knowledge about science and humanities; discovering new and inspiring ideas; gaining confidence through drama and roleplays; improving interview, negotiation or presentation skills; keeping up with what is going on in the world; or simply letting off steam and laughing away the week’s annoyances; I try to make sure that every student is getting something out of the lessons that is above and beyond new vocabulary.

I want for students to feel like they are gaining more than just English on my courses, and believe that when this is the case, language acquisition becomes more motivated and therefore accelerated.
